The Department of Tahfizul Qur'an is dedicated to the memorization of the Holy Qur'an with proper phonetic rules. Students in this department are trained to memorize the Qur'an by heart under the supervision of expert teachers. The teaching methodology follows a structured system where students revise their previously learned lessons, known as aamokhta, on a daily basis. Teachers listen carefully to their recitations, ensuring accuracy and fluency according to the rules of Tajweed.
To enhance the retention of memorized portions, a weekly review system is in place. Students are required to revise all the lessons they have learned in the past week in a single sitting. Once a para (chapter) is completely memorized, it undergoes another round of revision to reinforce learning. This systematic approach helps students retain the Qur'anic verses efficiently and improves their recitation skills.
A special tradition is followed in the month of Rajab, where students recite all their memorized paras in nafil namaz after Maghrib prayers. This practice not only strengthens their memorization but also instills a deep spiritual connection with the Qur'an. Later, they present their recitations before their teachers for final evaluation.
